The following is the current listing of the 2008/2009 Board of Directors for Coastal Communities Network.

Jackie Race |
Jackie, who hails from Shelburne, has been a vital part of Coastal Communities Network since the On Common Ground conference in 1998. Jackie has served on the board of Coastal Communities Network for many years and now holds the position of Chairperson. Economic development and diversity are Jackie’s two main interests for her community.

Wendy Robichaud |
Wendy has been with Coastal Communities Network in various capacities for over eleven years. Presently, Wendy is a former teacher working as the Community Relations Coordinator for the Colchester-East Hants Public Library in central Nova Scotia. She is also the past chair of the Colchester Adult Learning Association and chair of Cobequid Community Network in Truro. As a member of both the Student Training and the Community Training committees of the Rural Communities Impacting Policy (RCIP) project, a partnership between Coastal Community Network and the Atlantic Health Promotion Research Centre of Dalhousie University, she helped to develop many of the modules for the project. Wendy is also a member of the Nova Scotia Rural Team of the Rural Secretariat and the new Nova Scotia Volunteer Community Advisory Council.

Prem Dhir |
Originally from New Delhi, India, Prem has been on the Executive Board of Coastal Communities Network since 2006. A teacher by trade, Prem has taught in Canada, United Kingdom and India. As well as serving as 1st Vice Chair of Coastal Communities Network, Prem also serves as President of the Multicultural Association of Colchester County. Prem has served on numerous committee and boards, such as Multicultural Association of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Community Links Association, Cobequid Community Computer Network, Voluntary Planning Provincial Board, Positive Encouragement & Community Help for Youth Society, Central Nova C@P sites, Advisory Committee for Provincial Judicial appointments, Advisory Committee for appointments to the Provincial government's Adjudicative Boards, and The Community Credit Union Board.
Prem also holds the position of Commissioner of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission and serves on the Provincial Board of Examiners in Psychology.
Living in the Truro area, Prem and his wife Shanta are very active in their community. Prem has been recognized on a number of occasions for his on-going community leadership and volunteerism.

Pam Harrison |
Pam is the Atlantic Region’s Gift Planner for The United Church of Canada and an active volunteer in her community. In addition to being a valuable member of the CCN board, Pam also chairs the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia. A mother of three married children and grandmother to six grandchildren, Pam enjoys time with her family. As an active member of Rotary International, Pam serves as the district’s chairperson of the Rotary Friendship Exchange. An avid traveler, Pam has recently returned from China. Her personal quest is to visit the Seven Wonders of the World.

Kevin Quinlan |
Soon after arriving in Nova Scotia in 2001 to take on the position of Principal at the Nova Scotia Community College’s (NSCC) Truro campus, Kevin Quinlan also took on the role of Treasurer for Coastal Communities Network’s Board of Directors.
Kevin has spent over 30 years working in education and community development. In his home province of Newfoundland, Kevin began his career as a tradesperson in the pulp and paper, mining, and oil refinery industries. He then became a college instructor, which led to an undergraduate degree at Memorial University, a graduate degree at the University of New Brunswick, and a doctorate degree at the University of Toronto. Kevin worked for 18 years for the Newfoundland and Labrador Vocational Education Training System (now the College of the North Atlantic) before moving west to take a senior position as Director and Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina.
Kevin is currently involved with a project for the Association of Canadian Community Colleges and sits on the advisory committee for the Foundation for Rural Living’s Rural Development Officer Training Program.

Linda Gregory |
As a health care professional, Linda Gregory cares deeply about her community. Having lived in Culloden, Digby County all her life, Linda recognizes the signs of a caring community.
Not only is Linda a council member for The Municipality of the District of Digby but she has also volunteers her time with many local organizations, such as Heart and Stroke Foundation, Big Bike Nova Scotia, Lung Association, Cardiology Technologist Association of Nova Scotia, St. John Ambulance and the 6th Digby Boy Scout troop just to name a few.
Through the years while Linda has been busy with her family, council, work and volunteer responsibilities, she has remained committed and engaged as a Board Member of Coastal Communities Network. Since CCN’s inception in the early 1990s, Linda has been active on the Board Executive as well as various committees.

| John MacInnes |
Since 2001, John has brought his knowledge and experience of the fisheries and community sustainability to the Coastal Communities Network Board of Directors.
A resident of Mabou, John has always been involved with the sea, whether fishing with his uncle, buying landings from other boats or selling lobster supplies during winters.
In 1988 John took on the role of Nova Scotia Fisheries Representative for Inverness and Victoria counties. He is responsible for marketing, product development, and fisheries licensing as well as helping people with their Fishermen Loan Board applications and working with harbour authorities to develop their infrastructure projects. He also works with fishermen and aquaculturists in projects around technology, including transferring technology from one area to another.

| Camille Dumond |
Camille works in Program Development at the Tatamagouche Centre. She holds a Masters Degree in Health Promotion and has worked with non-profit environmental and community development organizations in Nova Scotia for the past 10 years. She brings expertise in adult education and community youth development as well as a strong commitment to rural development that values ecology and social justice. Camille joined the board of CCN in 2008.

| Scott Milsom |
Scott is one of Coastal Communities Network’s newest board members, joining the board in April, 2008. Scott has been writing about the Maritimes in general, and Nova Scotia in particular, for more than 25 years. A co-founder in 1981 of New Maritimes magazine, a Regional Magazine of Culture and Politics, he served as its Managing Editor from 1988 until its closure at the end of 1996. Between 1998 and the end of 2003, he worked as Communications Officer for the Coastal Communities Network and as editor of its then bi-monthly magazine, Coastal Communities News. Scott He has a life-long interest in the region’s fisheries, agricultural, and forestry sectors, on the people who work in them, and in the communities that depend on them.
Scott currently lives in Halifax and works as a freelance writer and contract book editor.
